Disbursement typically begins during the week before the first day of classes each semester. Sign up for Direct Deposit and receive priority when disbursements are made. Choosing Direct Deposit means that your financial aid or scholarship refund (the amount after institutional charges are deducted) may be deposited directly into your personal checking or savings account at your bank. Information and application forms are available on the Student Financial Services Web site or in the office located in Student Services West, Room 2536. If you do not sign up for Direct Deposit, your funds will be mailed to you in the form of a check. Checks are mailed beginning on the first day of classes. It is the policy of San Diego State University to directly apply financial aid and/or scholarship funds to current year registration fees, residence hall charges, and other institutional expenses (including financial aid overpayments) before releasing funds to students. A student may request that their Cal Grant B Access Grant be disbursed directly to them. This request can be made at any time; however, if the grant has already been disbursed, the request would affect only future payments. The request may be made, in person, to the University Disbursements Office. Federal Perkins Loan recipients are required to complete and sign legal documents prior to disbursement. The completion of all documents and the signing of the promissory note is online. You will receive email notification from SDSU's billing service, Educational Computer Systems, Inc (ECSI) when your documents are available. Recipients of the University Long Term Loan will be notified by University Disbursements staff when your documents are ready. Federal Work-Study paychecks are disbursed monthly at the University Disbursements Office. A pay date schedule is available from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Disbursements, online at Student Financial Services Web site, or from the employer. Information on this Web site is subject to change without notice. Every effort is made to ensure that information is current and accurate. |
