The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

Non-payment of fees or tuition may result in cancellation of your registration.

Registration Fees

You must pay fees before you can access the Web registration system. "My Registration," available at the SDSU WebPortal, contains registration and payment information. The registration process is not complete until you are officially enrolled in classes. Payment of fees alone does not constitute registration.

All Cashier Holds must be cleared prior to paying for registration. Payments to clear financial holds must be made by cash, debit cards, money order, or certified check. Inquire at Cashiering Services for more information. Personal checks or charge cards will NOT be accepted.

Fees are subject to change. Go to the Student Account Services Web site for the latest information on fees.

On July 21, 2009, the California State University Trustees voted to implement an increase in the State University Fee and Out of State Tuition effective for the fall 2009 semester. If you have already paid your fees, you will receive instructions within the next few weeks about how much you will need to pay and how to pay. Students who pay their registration fees by August 3, 2009 may pay the registration fee rates that were changed prior to this fee increase and will also receive a billing notice by e-mail. Any students who pay after August 4, 2009 will be charged the new Registration Fee rate which will include the fee increase.

The class schedule and the Student Account Services Web site will be updated if there are any changes to these amounts.

  Units Attempted: 0 - 6.0 6.1 or more
  Undergraduate Fees: $1,605.00 $2,451.00

*  A new fee has been approved by the CSU Trustees for students enrolled in State-Supported Professional Business Graduate Programs that will be effective for the fall 2009 semester. It is a $210.00 per unit fee addition to registration fees and tuition students would normally pay. Student Account Services will notify students affected by this new fee as soon as the university receives the final details and approval from the CSU Chancellor's office.

**Does not include Joint Doctoral students

See the breakdown of fees.

Auditors pay the same fee as students carrying courses for credit. Nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students pay additional fees.
