Open University Student Enrollment at San Diego State UniversityOnly students who are not eligible to enroll in SDSU's regular programs may enroll in Open University. Enrollment is on a space available basis. Students who are accepted and registered in SDSU's regular program may not enroll in Open University. NOTE: Undergraduate Students who have been disqualified (academic and administrative) from SDSU will not be allowed to attend Open University or classes through the SDSU College of Extended Studies Special Sessions until one year from the date of their disqualification. Graduate Students will not be allowed for one semester following disqualification. Permission of the course instructor and in some cases the department chair is required. Students pay Open University fees. Graduate students should consult the Bulletin of the Graduate Division for further restrictions. Students interested in enrolling in Open University should:
Registration will be accepted beginning January 18, 2007 (on the 1st day of class) – and will end on February 7,2007. Late registration (with $20 late fee) will be February 8 – 14, 2007. Registration after February 14 will be by petition only for serious and compelling reasons. Contact the College of Extended Studies for current fees. Drop/Refund deadlines are as follows:
Open University enrollment does not constitute formal admission to
the university. Open University students earn
non matriculated resident credit and if students
eventually matriculate to the university, no more than 24 units completed
through Open University will be applied to the degree. Graduate students
should consult the Bulletin of the Graduate Division for information
on these matters. Online Web Portal Accounts: All Extended Studies students taking credit courses who need to access SDSU online services (transcripts, library, blackboard, etc.) should create an SDSU web portal account by going to the SDSU Web Portal.
