Spring Semester 2009

  January 2 Spring 2009 registration begins.
  January 15 First day of spring semester.

Faculty/staff advising.

Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  January 21 Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2009 semester and receive a full refund.
  January 21 Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.

FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.
  Jan 22 - Feb. 11 Fee payments accepted for late registration. Last opportunity to pay late registration fees is 4 p.m. on February 11.
  Jan. 22 - Feb. 11 LATE REGISTRATION/Schedule Adjustments. Registration closes at 6 p.m. on February 11.
  February 1
Applications for bachelor’s degree for December 2009 graduation accepted.
  February 11
Last day to add classes, drop classes, or change grading basis. No schedule adjustments allowed after 6 p.m. on this date.
  February 11
Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for spring semester 2009.
  February 11
Last day to file application for bachelor’s degree for May and August 2009 graduation.
  February 11
Last day to apply for May 2009 graduation with an advanced degree, Division of Graduate Affairs.

Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for spring semester 2009.

Last day for payment of fees for late registration. (4 p.m. deadline.)

Classes resume.
  April 6 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for spring 2009 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after February 11 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
  April 6 Final day for submitting theses to the Division of Graduate Affairs for thesis review to ensure graduation in May 2009. Joint university deadlines apply when submitting approved doctoral dissertations to the Division of Graduate Affairs for May commencement.
  April 7 - May 26 Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs after this date on an at-risk basis. However, May 2009 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by noon, May 21. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
  May 1 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for May 2009 graduation with an advanced degree.
  May 13 Last day of classes before final examinations.
  May 14-21 Final examinations.
  May 15 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.
  May 21 Final day for depositing approved theses at Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing. (Noon deadline.)
  May 22-24 Commencement.
  May 25 Holiday— Memorial Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  May 26 Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)
  May 26 Last day to apply for a leave of absence for spring semester 2009.
  May 26 Final day to submit thesis to the Division of Graduate Affairs without having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)
  May 26 Last day of spring semester.

SUMMER TERM 2009
NOTE: Final examinations are the last day of each class during each summer session.

  April 27 Summer 2009 registration begins, all sessions.
  May 22 Last day of registration for S1 - 6 week session and T1 - 13 week session before classes begin.
  May 25 Holiday— Memorial Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  May 27 First day of summer term.
  May 28 First day of classes for S1 - 6 week session and T1 - 13 week session.
  May 28 - June 5 LATE REGISTRATION/Schedule Adjustments for S1 - 6 week session. Registration closes at 6 p.m. on June 5.
  May 28 - June 12 LATE REGISTRATION/Schedule Adjustments for T1 - 13 week session. Registration closes at 6 p.m. on June 12.
  July 1
Applications for bachelor’s degree for May and August 2010 graduation accepted.
  July 3 Holiday— Independence Day Observed.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  July 8 Last day of registration for S2 - 6 week session before classes begin.
  July 9 Last day of classes for S1 - 6 week session.

  July 9 - 16 Grades submission period for S1 - 6 week session. WebGrades closes at 11 p.m. on July 16.
  July 13 First day of classes for S2 - 6 week session.

  July 16 Grades due from instructors for S1 - 6 week session. (11 p.m. deadline.)
  July 22 Census.
