Updated (Friday, March 13, 9:45 p.m.): San Diego State University is making additional campus changes given coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. One SDSU study abroad student living off campus is confirmed to have COVID-19, though health officials deem campus risk to be low.

SDSU will continue to provide updates about this evolving situation on its public-facing COVID-19 web page. The page contains updates related to university decisions, study abroad, business and personal travel, health-related guidance and individual actions members of our community should take.

As SDSU moves toward virtual adoption, the Library provides Student Resources for Virtual Learning and has a Library COVID-19 News & Resources page.

If you are ill, contact Student Health Services by calling 619-594-4325.

Students who currently or have plans to study abroad should contact SDSU’s Study Abroad office at 619-594-2475 or [email protected].

International students who are studying at SDSU should contact SDSU’s International Student Center at 619-594-1982.

For faculty and staff


The Employee Assistance Program offers SDSU faculty and staff confidential support for a variety of concerns, including emotional, relationship, health, legal and workplace issues. Information, resources and tools are available by calling 1-800-342-8111 and visiting the EAP website.

Instructional Technology Services has introduced the SDSU Coronavirus (COVID-19) Academic Continuity Preparation site with information and resources for faculty members. Faculty and staff who are currently abroad and need support are asked to immediately contact their dean’s office. If you require added support, contact SDSU’s Office of Faculty Advancement at 619-594-6111.

Virtual Instruction Primer (VIP): Tools & Techniques workshops will be offered to faculty March 11-19. VIP registration for faculty is required.

Please visit the university's public-facing COVID-19 web page regularly, as it will be updated as new information becomes available. Currently, SDSU continues to operate normally, and classes have moved to virtual instruction.

Students should sign up for SDSU Alerts by registering through the Web Portal.
Faculty, staff and members of the community can register through the Emergency Alert System.

Follow U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to self-quarantine for 14 days after leaving a country affected by COVID-19. Employees should inform their supervisors. Students should contact SDSU’S Study Abroad office filling out the check-in survey so that the team is aware of your plans. You can also email questions to [email protected].
