With Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson serving as San Diego State University football’s home stadium this year and next, the theme for this year’s homecoming is “Home Away From Homecoming,” set for the week of Nov. 9-14.

Festivities include the annual War Memorial wreath-laying ceremony, a pet SDSU spirit competition and trivia night, culminating in a live virtual celebration set for noon PT Nov. 14, one hour before the homecoming game where the the Aztecs will take on the University of Hawai’i. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. PT and will be televised on Spectrum Sports.

Coloring Pages Competition

Bring SDSU to life with the Homecoming Coloring Page Competition! Download customized coloring pages and submit your coloring pages by composing an email to [email protected] with the subject header “COLORING PAGES SUBMISSION - [Your Name]” to enter the competition. Submissions will be open from Nov. 9-12. SDSU students, staff, faculty and alumni are eligible. The top three winners will win SDSU swag and will be announced on the SDSU Homecoming Instagram and Facebook (@sdsuhomecoming) on Nov. 13.

Pet SDSU Spirit Competition

Submit photos of your beloved pets dressed up in SDSU gear or with an SDSU backdrop for a chance to win fun prizes. Photos can be submitted by emailing [email protected] with the subject header “PET SPIRIT SUBMISSION - [Your Name].” Submissions are open from Nov. 9-12. SDSU students, staff, faculty and alumni are eligible. The top three winners will win SDSU swag and will be announced on the SDSU Homecoming Instagram and Facebook (@sdsuhomecoming) on Nov. 13.

Show off your SDSU knowledge at Homecoming SDSU Trivia Night! Enjoy a night of SDSU Kahoot fun by registering at here. For any questions, please contact [email protected]. The top three winners will win SDSU Bookstore swag and other prizes.

SDSU War Memorial Ceremony
Friday, November 13
10-10:30 a.m. PT

The memories of our SDSU fallen Aztecs will be honored at the 24th annual War Memorial Ceremony on the Aztec Green. Pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice during our nation’s military conflicts. This year's virtual ceremony will be live streamed at sdsualumni.org/warmemorial. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP.

Home Away from Homecoming Pre-Game Show
Saturday, November 14
Start time noon PT

All members of the SDSU community are invited to participate. Emcee for the event will be former SDSU football standout J. R. Tolver ('02). The program features special guests, contests, prizes and fun for a worldwide audience of Aztecs wearing red and black to share their SDSU pride. Also during the event the 2020 Homecoming Royals will be announced.

SDSU’s annual homecoming football game has been set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 when the Aztecs take on the University of Hawai'i. Per California's COVID-19 industry guidance for institutions of higher education, and the specific interim guidance for collegiate athletics, no spectators are allowed.
