Asian American Studies

About the Major
The Asian American Studies major equips students with a deep understanding of the histories, struggles, and achievements of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities through interdisciplinary methods and strategies for effecting social change based on the historical, political, social, and artistic contributions of AAPI change makers and professionals. The program prepares graduates to enter the workforce with the modern skills and experiences sought by employers in the nonprofit, K-16, and business sectors.
Program Highlights
With career-ready coursework, applied projects, and internships, students can pursue their interests in activism, advocacy, community engagement, business, and contemporary issues facing AAPI communities. The Asian American Studies program offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a minor.
