San Diego State University is hosting the “Health Expo: A Road to Wellness” from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 16 on  Centennial Walkway. The event will feature campus and local health resources, activities, networking opportunities, and a keynote speaker.
“This is an important event for SDSU as it promotes health and wellness and student well-being by increasing healthy lifestyle choices through exposure to on- and off-campus health and wellness resources, services and products,” said Bailey Madnick, the 2015 Health Expo coordinator “We want to students to realize health is more than going to a doctor and that there are abundant resources in their community. The Health Expo takes on a holistic approach, bringing together all the dimensions of wellness into one location and day for our students.”
Jeremy Poincenot will be be the keynote speaker for the event.   Poincenot, an SDSU alumnus, will   share his story of suddenly becoming legally blind and how he turned adversity into triumph.  “He is a motivational speaker and a professional golfer. His story is truly inspirational and we hope students will come to hear what he has to say and be encouraged to live their best and healthiest life,”  Madnick said.
Poincenot will speak at the Union Theatre from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The event also will feature a raffle with several prizes, and students who visit six tables are eligible for a free promotional item.
