How SDSU helped launch San Diego's favorite French bakery
A shop opened in 2014 in the Gaslamp Quarter by Ludivine Ryon (‘13) and her husband, Guillaume Ryon has expanded to multiple locations countywide.

Known for their award-winning desserts, Ludivine Ryon (‘13) and her husband, Guillaume Ryon, founded Parfait Paris in 2014. With their first shop opening in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, the couple’s French-inspired bakery has expanded to multiple locations countywide.
Ludivine, who received a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from San Diego State University's L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, said the university’s support for international students was instrumental in her decision to attend.
Immersing herself in all SDSU had to offer, Ludivine gained valuable skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry, taking detailed notes along the way. Upon graduating and realizing that San Diego had no true French pastry shop at the time, she and her husband opened Parfait Paris, using those same notes she took during her classes at SDSU.
Now, over 10 years later, Parfait Paris has gone on to win Best Desserts in San Diego, multiple years in a row, and Ludivine is still grateful for all that SDSU provided, both in and out of the classroom.
