Combined enrollment at SDSU and SDSU Imperial Valley surpassed 40,000 for the first time.

The Imperial Irrigation District has put up $35,000 for trees and shaded seating in the brutal heat of both the Calexico and Brawley campuses.

At the annual All-University Convocation, attended by hundreds of faculty, staff and student leaders, SDSU President Adela de la Torre said the university is standing up for its historic mission, core beliefs and community engagement.

Its new facility in Brawley will launch STEM-related majors that will address the workforce needs of Lithium Valley’s geothermal sector.

SDSU Imperial Valley’s School of Nursing received a $75,000 grant per year, for two years from the California Department of Healthcare Access and Information.
