Internationalize Your Course

Global learning is not synonymous with international travel. Keeping students at our core, SDSU International Affairs makes quality global learning possible for inbound international students, outbound study abroad students, and placebound students who are not able or interested in leaving home. Course internationalization focuses on moving students’ minds, not their bodies.

Research has shown that incorporating international perspectives in coursework can maximize the outcomes of subsequent academic programs including future international experiences. Additionally, global learning has been linked to student retention and reduced time to graduation.

By internationalizing your course, you advance SDSU’s strategic plan in multiple ways. Examples include improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in global learning by removing traditional barriers that exist for study abroad and helping SDSU be more environmentally sustainable by eliminating the need for air travel and the associated greenhouse gas emissions.
