Faculty Global Engagement Awards

Faculty Global Engagement Symposium and Awards Ceremony
Overview: The Faculty Global Engagement Symposium and Awards Ceremony is held every Fall, during International Education Week, to recognize outstanding SDSU faculty members in six areas. Nominations for the Outstanding Faculty Global Engagement Awards are accepted either via peer- or self-nomination. For peer-nominations, the faculty nominee must first agree to the nomination.

Outstanding Global Research & Creative Activity Award recognizes a faculty member whose research and/or creative activity in the past academic year has “impacted” the global community (e.g., international collaborations, community-based interventions, and/or peer-reviewed publications). We understand impact broadly and invite you to provide a clear explanation of global “impact” and supporting evidence as part of the nomination materials. Priority will be given to nominee’s research and/or creative activities that align with SDSU and International Affairs’ strategic priorities (i.e., access, diversity, equity, and inclusion; transborder engagement; sustainability; and/or global leadership). Nomination materials include: (a) evidence and description (no more than 2 single-spaced pages) of how the research and/or creative activity has impacted the global community, and (b) a letter of support preferably from a colleague or collaborator outside the United States and/or not affiliated with a U.S. institution. Please submit all evidence as an attachment.
